The Best Real Estate Exam Prep in Delaware

Applicants who wish to take the Delaware real estate exam must apply through DELPROS (Delaware Professional Regulation Online Services). New users will be required to create a DELPROS account in order to apply. The website is: https://delpros.delaware.gov/OH_HomePage.

Current Processing Timeframes: Once all required documents have been submitted, it typically takes 3-5 business days for the Delaware Real Estate Commission to issue a license.

Salesperson Exam

• An applicant must be at least 18 years of age and:
• Must have high school diploma or equivalent
• Successfully pass the real estate examination
• Submit proof of having completed 99 hours of pre-license education
• Complete and submit the notarized application form
• Must provide a Statement of Broker of Record from the broker of record of the office applicant enters in the Real Estate Employment section
• Must arrange for a Certificate of Licensure History to be sent to the Real Estate Commission from each state where the applicant has held a real estate license
• Must provide the original score report provided by Pearson VUE at the time the real estate exam was completed
• As of May 2022, the Delaware Real Estate Commission has implemented additional educational requirements for real estate salespersons. All newly licensed individuals, aside from individuals licensed by reciprocity, must complete the following 12 hours of coursework within 90 days of license issuance: Three hours in professional standards for new licensees; Three hours in agreement of sale and buyer representation for new licensees; Three hours in real estate documents and seller representation for new licensees; Three hours in real estate professionalism for new licensees.

Associate Broker Exam

• An applicant must be at least 18 years of age and:
• Must complete and submit the notarized application form
• Must provide proof of having completed pre-license education
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Must have been licensed as a salesperson and/or broker in Delaware, any other jurisdiction or combination of jurisdictions for five continuous years before applying
• Must have a Certificate of Licensure History sent directly to the office of the Real Estate Commission from each state where the applicant has ever held a real estate license
• Complete and sign the Sales or Lease Transaction Listing with 30 sales or transactions completed by the applicant in the last five years
• Provide a license history/certification from each jurisdiction where the applicant currently holds or ever held a real estate license
• Pay exam fee ($85) and license fee ($219)

Broker Exam

• An applicant must be at least 18 years of age and:
• Complete and submit the notarized application form 
• Submit proof of having completed Pre-License Education
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Must have been licensed as a salesperson and/or broker in Delaware, any other jurisdiction or combination of jurisdictions for five continuous years prior to applying
• Arrange for a Certificate of Licensure History to be submitted to the Real Estate Commission from each state in which the applicant has ever held a real estate license 
• Complete and sign the Sales or Lease Transaction Listing with 30 sales or transactions completed by the applicant in the last five years
• Provide a license history from each jurisdiction in which the applicant has ever held a real estate license
• Pay the exam fee ($85) and the license fee ($238)

Salesperson Examination: The exam consists of 80 general practice questions and 40 Delaware-specific questions, all of which are multiple choice. Candidates have 4 hours to complete the test.

Associate Broker and Broker Examination: The exam consists of 80 general practice questions and 50Delaware-specific questions. Candidates have 4 hours to complete the test.

For the salesperson, associate broker, and broker examinations: There are multiple versions of each of the exams, each with different questions of varying degrees of difficulty. To ensure that no candidate has an unfair advantage or disadvantage, a statistical procedure known as equating is used to correct for differences in difficulty. This means that raw scores are converted into scaled scores that can range from 0 to 100, with anything above 70 a passing score. This would mean getting at least 56 of the 80 general practice questions correct and at least 28 of the 40 state-specific questions correct.

Candidates must provide 2 forms of current signature identification and the name on the identification must exactly match the name on the exam registration. The primary identification must be government issued and photo bearing with a signature and can be any of the following:

• Government-issued drivers’ license
• US Department of State driver’s license
• US Learner’s permit
• National/state/country ID card
• Passport
• Passport card
• Military ID
• Military ID for spouses or dependents 
• Alien registration card

• Debit or credit card
• Any form of ID on the Primary ID list
